After doing some reading, I decided to try the IH CPS that was dark grey with the purple o-ring. I tried doing a before/after video of how the engine ran with both.. But due to technical difficulties ( or stupidity.. however you wanna look at it) I didn't hit the record button for the "before" segment..
Anyhow.. It definitely smoothed out my engine some.. at idle & using my 1200 rpm idle in my DP Tuner. I'll report back how it runs when I get a chance to go for a ride later.. but so far, it seems to be an improvement over the lite gray installed in the recall .
I recently did this to both my trucks also.
I checked Rotational Velocities pre and post and found that #3 and #8 readings returned to normal with the International CPS. On 1 truck, all cylinders except #2 now read 0% (#2 averages about .5%-.7%). On the other truck, #8 still reads about 1.2% but I haven't installed my FRx yet on that one....I will do that this weekend and see if there is any difference.

Thats good to hear. I wish I had the capabilities to do those kind of tests. Hopefully someday soon I'll get the AE. I do know it definitely idled smoother & when I used the 1200 hi idle I always noticed a hiccup & with the new CPS, it was a lot smoother. Maybe its just me, but it seemed to start quicker than it did on the lite gray CPS.
How much was that sensor? I just paid $26 at the Ford dealer for the regular one. Was planning on putting it on during lunch today after another no-start last night...

I asked this in another post but thought I would ask again.I'm running a CPS from International that i put in ~three years ago,it has always run smooth without any issues at all,is the"new" CPS from International supposed to be better than the"old" one from international.

I really don't know, all i do know is that when i was @ the International dealer the guy told me this was the latest greatest. I told him I was replacing the gray Ford recall, he said yea a lot of guys were doing the same.

I don't know.. but it really made my truck idle & start better than the lite gray one from the recall
That I don't know Pop. The way things are now days who could say. At least I've got 2 of the shells covered, does seem to start quicker & idle better but w/o a scan no concrete evidence.
I ordered one from Ed this past May. I put it in just to see what happened. I wasn't sure if there was a difference or not between that cps or the grey cps currently in my truck. I ended up re-installing the grey cps just so I knew i had a functioning spare cps in the glovebox. Maybe if I get ambitious this weekend i'll re-install the international cps to see how it does when it's cold out.
I have been running the latest Ford OBS sensor for almost two years without any problems. As best I can tell, the main difference between the two is that the OBS unit is a darker grey and has tin-plated contacts. I suspect that the "working end" is enough different that it works better than the later unit.
I used dielectric grease on the pins when I assembled it, and have had no problems with corrosion. I have a smooth idle and not other issues.
I am completely stock, except for a Walker BTM muffler, HPX, high pressure fuel bypass spring, and Dino CCK. No tuner.
