I have a 95 F350 regular cab. I have a bench seat in it and it is horrible. It sits straight up in the air and is just not comfortable at all. I also have a 2002 F350 reg. cab and the seats in it recline and are very comfortable. I was thinking of going to a junk yard and getting some seats out of a 99 or so super duty and trying to put them in my 95. Anyone got any ideas? Would I run into trouble doing this? What do you think a set of seats would cost? Thanks
Seats would be pretty expensive. Try getting a set from a 95, mine has bucket seats w/ a seat in the middle (40/20/40) or you can get bucket seats with a console in the middle. Those would be a direct bolt in I think, no need to drill new holes and fill the others. Also, if you get them from a 95 the colors will match.
I am 6'3 and it just sucks because I can't move my seat back very far and I can't recline it so over a long ride I get uncomfortable. Thats cool that some 95's came with bucket seats. i thought that all the older trucks were bench seats but I guess i was wrong. What range of years had buckets? What do you think they would run me? I just want something to recline in and I want more room behind my seat like my new superduty has!
Try E-bay a friend of mine scored a real nice set of 40/20/40's for his 91. He paid 250 + 80 for shipping. The seats were out of a 95. If you are gonna look try for burgandy colored seat. They seem to be less expensive and don't get bid on !!
haha thanks for the burgandy tip but I imagine my girlfriend would refuse to ride with me if I got them lol. I think I will stick with grey like I have now or maybe some black ones would look cool. I guess I could get a custum seat cover to hide the color but those are pretty pricey! Will my seat belts still function?
Broncos and any pickup cab other than standard had the option of buckets. 80-86 buckets had 2 armrests, but '92-96 had a better slide/dump mechanism. If you have the short cab, you'll never be able to recline - there's no room behind the seat for it to lay back even a little. The bucket backs are much thicker than the cheap bench, so you'll probably actually sit UP more with buckets.
It's a totally different cab/seat design, so the ergonomics are apparently better. Look at the distance between the headrest and the back of the cab in the old truck, with the seat at its most comfortable location, and I think you'll see what I mean.
