Ok maybe a different way of asking this question. Does anyone know what the measurement is referring to? Is it the actual diameter of the rod? If so, I can measure that with some calipers. I just was not sure if it was the machined part of the spindle or the rod itself.
I was looking at some aftermarket billet window cranks and trying to determine which size to order. They had 1/2" and 7/16" sizes. But I was not sure exactly what they were measuring. My spindle is kind of gnawed down from the previous crank and I plan to order new regulators. I did not know what the thread (or cog I guess) size was on one that was not eaten away.
My best suggestion is to take the window crank out and put a set of Saturn power window motors in the regulator and have the power windows. This is super cheap cheap and very easy to do. It might be cheaper thatn buying new window crank handles.
The window motors came out of Saturn 4 door, approx. 2001 era. They are the front window motors. The salvage yards sell them with the motor and regulator. If you can find ones that the regulator is damaged they will usually let them go really cheap because they are useless to them.
The teeth on the motor meshes up perfectly with the teeth on the 61-66 regulators. The regulaters need to be modified some. They need a tab welded on the top to mount the 3rd bolt on the motor and it need to be notched behind one of the mounting bolts for clearance of the motor. This will all make sense when you try to mount the motor.
The motors need to be tilted slightly to the front to allow clearance for the wing window divider.
Be extra careful when you take the original window crank out as the spring is tight and can get away from you and hurt you.
