Okay guys question here. Iam installing exh manifold gaskets . What is everyone using if any on flange end where the up pipe and exh manifold connect. Is it just clean it and install ? Did anyone experience any leaks there after taking it apart ?
There is no gasket there. If you are having a leak, either the flange is pitted or you are not getting it correctly aligned.
Yes I know there is no gasket there I just thought if any where using any sealant I know we shouldnt use it but just wonering if anyone had with any luck.
No my leak is not there its at manifold and at the dounuts on the up pipe.
If you are using a gasket on the manifold make sure you go back and retorque after a week or so. They backed off a bit on mine and the gasket started to fold up on itself. I put an extra 40lb of torque after that. So far so good.

Yes I am using gaskets . I had plan to retorque the the bolts .
You put an extra 40lb on top of the original torque of 45lbs after a week ?
and yes a extra 40 on 45 cause I didnt want to do it again, Our steering arm runs down the right side and some of the bolts were near impossible to get at with a torque wrench.
