Quick Fix? (Exhaust Manifold)
Quick Fix? (Exhaust Manifold)
Howdy!
1970 F600, 330 motor.
Just replaced the "Y" pipe. Leaks in 4 places btwn. exh. mani. & head. Any "quick fix" I can smear in there to get it through inspection? JB Weld?? Other?? Bolts are pretty bad (33 years old).
I removed the exh. manis. on a Chevy 350 once...what a night mare!

Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahha! "Go around it with duct tape like 30 times". If I don't die from laughing right now, I'll die from the fumes!!
What about furnace cement? Is that the same as those muffler patch kits, or is it better??

I've gone as far as using two gaskets with high-temp silicone on all the surfaces (head-gasket / gasket-gasket / gasket-manifold).
Mine have been sealed like that for 2 1/2 years now.
