looking for some opinions on a issue i am having with my stock 07 f350. when the motor is cold my rpms will drop 100 to 300 rpms while i am pushing the gas. the tac just drops and goes back up. also i get a spudder when pushing the gas. when it gets to normal temp it runs great. what could this be? would really appreciate any feedback.
thanks
I'm watching this this thread. Mine acts funny cold as well. It starts fine but until it gets to full operating temp the idle will fluctuate - it sounds like someone is giving it the fuel then letting off.
I've got 110,000 miles, same year - 2007, it has been the most trouble free vehicle I have ever owned. It has yet to go in for any service other than oil and fuel filter changes. Most of the miles are towing as well.
i maybe wrong ,and probably a tech will chime in,but i think when these engines ar cold ,the transmission has a thermostat that has a lot to do as to how your engine performs.untill it is warmed up properly nothing happens.
MY 05 F-250 does samething. When i first crank my truck it runs rough, kinda like its skipping Gas motor. After it warms up an for the rest of the day it will start an run fine. My truck has 144000 miles on it.
Been down this road road twice. 105,000 on my 06. Injectors for sure. I have three out right now which cause it to run rough after sitting for long periods or if it is cold. Once up to to temp runs fine.
I feel everyone's pain... I'm experiencing the same thing- Misfires a bit when cold then runs fantastic when warmed up. When I plug it in overnight that eliminates the issue.
I decided it must be the dreaded stiction so I put in some Hot Shots Secret- After 300 miles it actually seems to be better although not completely eliminated. I am planning to run the HSS another 2200 miles and hoping for the best... which means no new injectors required.

Since your going with the Oil additive route:
If the Hot Shot Secret doesn't fix your problem purchase some Rev X and most likely your problem will be solved. Also if you already haven't, get the latest inductive heat flash as this will help also.
