Can anyone offer any ideas/techniques on how to reach the starter motor mounting bolts more easily? I need to replace the starter and am having a difficult time getting a wrench on the top mount with enough clearance to turn it.
Using a wrench to try to remove the bolts will do nothing but cause lots of frustration
I use a combination of sockets and extensions to allow having the ratchet at the front end of the starter.
If you have an air ratchet that makes it quite a bit easier.
I'm not sure why Ford couldn't put the bolts in from the back of the bellhousing instead.
Oh wait....that would make it too easy and we can't have that
