Ok I went to start the rig up and no go, the WTS light comes on the tac moves every thing seems fine except I get a cliccking sound from the dash area while she is turning over?
I'm thinking batteries? I would have checed them but I don't have my meter with me. Any thing else I should be looking for?
Also what should the batteries test at i'm thinking 11+ at a minimum
That is were I would start looking. A minimum of 11 volts at the terminals for start up. Also check/clean the terminals as well. How old are the batteries? Plus remember, replace them as a pair.
I put the bat's on the charger to get a reading since I don't have my meter, and the driver side is dead, but the passenger is showing full, so if I get her started off for 2 new batteries.
I have been thinking I'm going to need a new set here any day since these are about 4-5 years old.
One dead battery or two, the results is the same, no start. Most here will advise you to replace both as a pair and I will agree. Since they act as one large battery and not two seperate batteries, they need to be equal or the weaker one will just pull the stronger one down. Change them out and you should good for the cold nights ahead.
