2000 F150 Center Cap Help
I have center caps on my 150 and the old lugs that I had on it were M12's. I put new bearing assemblies on the front and pulled a blooper -- the new assemblies have M14 lugs. I got new Dorman lug nuts, but now the caps are real tight and the metal clip in the back may be a bit too small.
I have two options -- force it on (which I'm not sure it will fit), or seek help. Is there a different clip? Do I need new center caps?
Yes, I am an idiot, so you don't have to repeat that when you respond!!! There was no way I was tearing those bearing assemblies off once I put them both on....
Thanks,
Matt
You likely have some options depending on which factory wheel/cap you currently have.
A few of the oem center cap styles have clips that can be adjusted for either 12mm or 14mm lug nuts, while others have fix-sized clips, BUT are available in both 12mm or 14mm (Ford switched in mid-model year 2000).
A quick pic or description of your factory rims/caps, and I can point you in the correct direction.
Cheers.
