Does anyone make a reproduction battery tray for an F-1 with a 226 straight six? Most of the catalogs I have show one for a 215 six or a 239 V8 but nothing for the 226 six.
'52 - 215 and 48-52 - 239 boxes were all the same. But the 48-51 part number for the 226 is different. I'd think that's because with the 226 the battery was mounted on the opposite side of the engine compartment (at a different place on the opposite inner fender).

Yes. I picked up a tray at a flea market thinking it would work but it's set up backwards from what I need. I thought about taking it apart and rearranging the support brackets but even then, the flanges on the brackets where you bolt the assembly to the frame wouldn't line up properly.
I just noticed this one on ebay. The seller has it labeled as "1949 F100". I've never seen this one. Heck, for all I know, this is what you're looking for.

The one on ebay is not original for 48-52. I just sold my last good one. They show up every now and then on ebay.
Your right, the one on Ebay definitely is not original for 48-50. And as 51PanelMan mentioned, the support brackets under the tray for the 226 Six are shorter than for the V8. Below is a picture of the one off of my truck. It appears to be in better shape than it actually is. The the welds holding the right bracket to the tray are broken and the tray is rusted through where that bracket attaches. Merc52 has one in better shape that I'm thinking of buying.
All you really need is just a good tray. You can remove your rusted through tray and replace it with a better tray. However, most trays rust out. If you can't find a complete assembly for your application, then I would just find a decent tray for the V8 and swap them out.
