Hey guys,
Just got to work this morning and checked my degas bottle, level is right at bottom of container. I am going to go to Ford and get some coolant, top it up, see if they can do a pressure test and Ill monitor it.
Any other suggestions? I havent noticed any smoke, loss of power, erratic idle etc.
If you are lucky as I was it is just one of those stupid O rings. Although my first sign of trouble was a coolant smell, followed by a low bottle then finally a small hint of a leak on the P. side at the bottom.

I just replaced bottom hose to pump O ring, did not work, had to change hose too.
What was the level before you left? You just got the truck maybe it was not full when you got it. Was the truck hot or real cold when you looked at the bottle.
Would be nice if we knew what type truck you have and any mods on it!!
08, f350 dually, 48,000kms, no mods.
Tom, the level was good when I left, was a touch below the cold fill line. On saturday I believe I smelt coolant when I left the hotel but lasted only a min or two and havent noticed since. It wasnt quite at operating temp when I checked it.
A little white stuff.
I filled it up and will monitor. Going to be hard to tell for leaks as theres 8'' of snow and its just around freezing so you can imagine the mess it is around here.

What/where are we talkin' here? At the rad?

So you changed bottom hose to water pump and that fixed?
I would keep a close eye on it, maybe put a piece of cardboard under your truck at night and check in the AM. If you can crawl under the truck, everything should look like new, no drips etc.. Check around the rad and see if you see any white crusty stuff forming, also look up at the EGR cooler and see if you see any antifreeze, have a good look at the flex hose where it meets the exhaust manifold there is a gasket there. Go to the dealer if you have any doubts or concerns, that's why we have warranty. Another thing there is another cooler that has antifreeze, in it sits behind your overflow bottle maybe it was low and your extra fluid went there, I think the systems are connected would have to look to be sure. Also contact the dealer you got it from maybe they just serviced it and changed rad fluid and never checked to see if it was completely full..
well, i'd put some more coolant in it and see. Try to check when cold. Also check at the bottom of the radiator on top of the frame rails for rust or moisture. that would be the most likely spot as sometimes the radiator seams where the tanks join the radiator leak.
Hard to tell for sure from the picture but sure looks like a rad hose leak....Minor problem if that is all it is. looks like it but hard to say without looking at it...Bring it to the dealer and have them check it to be sure then have the hose replaced...
Well I checked this morning and it was down to the lower hose so it's a pretty fast leak. It'll be goin over to ford this morning.
I'll keep it updated when I get it back.
Thanks!
