I have a 94 ford f 150 5.0 Went home and ate lunch today and looked out the window to see it smoking. Ran out, poped the hood and the sensor on the master cylinder was smoking. Ran and got a wrench and disconnected the battery and it stopped. What caused this and is it the abs sensor?
Probably the speed control de-activation switch, I would think.
I also think I read here that there was a recall on it so you may be able to get it fixed free at the dealer.
Hopefully other opinions to follow.

You got lucky you caught it in time!
Unplug the connector until you can get the recal done.
THIS IS IMPORTANT! The Ford recall number is 05S28-your dealer can tell you by your VIN# if the recall has been done to your truck. Take a look at your master cylinder. near the end of it there's a cruise control de-activation switch with 2 wires hooked to it (even some trucks without cruise have this switch, don't ask me why). If you see a jumper harness hooked to this switch with an in-line fuse, then the recall has been done and you're OK. If you don't have this, the recall may not have been done. If you see any signs of leakage or heat around the connector DISCONNECT THE WIRES RIGHT AWAY! Although it's rare, this can start a fire, even with the vehicle parked and not running.
