I hated the links on my 77, they always seemed to hang up.

Did quite a few things to the truck today. Drove it about 20 miles running errands, finally got some convoluted tubing to clean up my electric fan wiring. Got the tool box drawer liner material between the spare and the gas tank tonight. Put a padlock on the spare tire (round padlock, put duct tape over the key hole and faced the key hole towards the rear). I'll have to take the lock off every few months to keep it working.

I spent this afternoon grinding the welded on bumper brackets off. Had to borrow the neighbor's air compressor, as its 8x the size of mine. Still have some clean up to do before I try out the 90's bumper.

Midday update: working on installing a new bumper On the old beast. Here are some pics of what I accomplished last night and this morning.

Looking good, Critter. But, the proof's in the fitting of that 90's bumper. Hope to see it mounted this evening.

The tweak in the bed is the main issue. I've done some trimming to the bumper, but it's gonna be tight till the bed is fixed.

*Update* I didn't relieve the bumper enough. Blah. More grinding and fitting required. I will try tonight.

Cleaned up my grille with some ammonia water, green scotch brite pad. Gloss black Krylon fusion and a few hours of my time today.

Pictures don't do it justice.

I got the new bumper trimmed and fit. Just some final finessing and it will be on. I may make new brackets later to snug it up more.

That is good progress. Looks like it'll fit.

Not without a lot of trimming. I do not recommend this for those scared of cutting metal. All metal removed was from the top of the bumper. This bumper came off of a Bronco, and the three holes do not line up. I can get two out of three in. At a later time I will relieve the third hole, and when I take it in for body work, I'll add on a bumper repair or bracket fab. I want to weld and shave the two bolts on the face to smooth that out. It will be a VERY custom job. I'm also going to draw back the front bumper and do the bolt smoothing on it too. "Foose-ify" it.

I've had a good vacation. Today I got my new fan shroud installed. I also installed an air horn to replace the factory one. The pad in the steering wheel went MIA.
