ive been driving my truck for awhile and i think i finally got all the bugs worked out of it except sometime when i have the heater or the air cnditioner on it switches around. like it will blow out the vents and then it will switch to up on the dash. someone told me that means you have a vacuum leak? is this true?

how would i go about checking for a vacuum leak?
Yes it does. Most probably the white hard plastic line under the hood on the passenger side.
ill have to check that one tomorrow. ive checked all the red and green lines. they all look good. ill see if i can take some pics of the lines tomorrow.
is this the line you were referring too? other than that i didnt see any other white lines on the passenger side. their really is no way to locate a vacuum leak is there? just check all the lines good?
That is the line in question, I replaced mine with rubber vacuum hose. Also, you can put and inline vacuum check valve in there and it will prevent the switching of it. Keep in mind that an engine does not make vacuum at high rpm's, so if it's doing it's switching act when you're at full throttle then it shouldn't be a surprise....put a check valve in mine and problem fixed.....I spend alot of time with my foot to the floorboard.
