so i take my buddys 96 or so f150 to go pick up my boat n tow it home n i get to my buddys house, and in checking the trailer lights, signal good signal good, brake light tsssssssssss and smoke, theres a hole in the brake line RIGHT next to the fittin for the front drivers side.
can i basically just cut it off and re flare it, i have the flaring tool, it should reach i only have to cut off a little bit,
i would try it, you have nothing to loose, and gotta fix it, or find a 24 hr part store and buy the length of line you need and just make the bends, i have more trouble bending than flaring
I would replace it. It will be much easier. They have a short universal line you can buy at the store. Just remove the line, bend the new one by hand, and install it. I have done this job on the fly myself. I bet it rusted right at the bracket on the top of the frame rail, where all kinds of road salt splashes against it and corrodes the line.
The universal lines now seem to have a green coating on them. I have used several already and am waiting to see how they hold up. The other ones they used to sell where galvanized or some other type of silver coating, and they didn't seem to last very long.
