Back up lights problem

I cant find the 2 wires that go to the back up light switch. I tried to look at the wiring diagram but i cant seem to find them anywhere. Is there any other option to get these lights working? I need these for inspection. Thanks

The only thing i have is the end of the switch thats on the tranny side. The previous owner must have chopped the wires or something because its not there and i cant even find the wires that are suppose to go to the tranny or the switch. Is it hard to wire new wires in order to get the lights to work?

it is on top of the Tranny to the drivers side of the shifter. It is easiset to get thru from inside the cab. Just remove the cover and its right there,

The Neutral Safety Switch (A/T only) is located on the steering column thru 1977. 1978 and later, it's located on the transmission.

The backup light switch on the New Process and Warner 4 speeds threads into the shift tower. Its location in the tower is specific to each trans.

The harness/plug for the 4 speeds backup light switch feeds off the taillamp harness. If it's not connected to the switch, it may be wrapped around or tied up to the left (drivers side) frame rail.

I replied to your other thread. I'll try to get you a pic of the harness location tomorrow. The lights did not work on my 1977 4 speed when I got it either. I have the NP435 trans, the connector was tough to get to. I could not see it, only feel it. Its on the shift tower as mentioned. I found my harness was wound up and laying on the drivers side inner fender apron near the master cylinder.

The connector I'm holding with my finger goes down to the back up light switch on the transmission. There is some extra wiring there but you can see it goes into the harness that comes out of the firewall. Just start at the firewall and come out about 8 inches or so and you should find it.
The connector I'm holding is really odd as well. The transmission side is sort of like a 90 degree male spade clip. Unfortunately I'm at work right now so I dont have the colors of the wires handy. Hopefully this helps.

I don't suppose that anyone has any info on the back-up wiring for the C-6? My bac-up lights do not come on at all and I am not sure where to start looking. Any info is appreciated.

What year truck? If its a 73-77 are you able to start the truck in any gear? Such as drive, reverse etc?
My 1976 Highboy C6 will start in any gear and the back up lights dont work. The nuetral safety/back up switch is located on the stering column and is actuated by a small lever that sticks out of the column. My lever is missing which is a common problem. It just clips in but I haven't grabbed a replacement yet. I plan on grabbing it from my dads wrecked 70 or 71 F-100, it is the same part on the older trucks as well.

thanks numberdummy and Blown331. I have only looked back in behind the steering column so hopefully its on the frame rail or near the firewall. I cant imagine someone would have cut the wires so i bet that there there u just have to find them.

If the engine will not start in neutral and your back up lights do not work when in reverse maybe your neutral safety/back up switch it out of adjustment. This would make your back up lights work in another gear though, possibly neutral.
Here's a pic of the switch from my highboy. The mounting holes in the bracket are slotted so you can loosen it and adjust.
