Pollack In-Bed RV Plug

Has anybody installed the Pollack kit for an in-bed plug? I bought the kit last week but they are calling for 5" of clearance behind the panel you mount it on and that much just doesn't exist on the rear half of these trucks. Just looking at the plug and wiring harness, it looks like 4" would work but I'm only finding about 3.5".

If anybody has installed one, where did you install it and do you have any pictures. The plug in my 06 was located in the side of the rear pillar at the tailgate. It was an easy place to get to, but also in the way at times and the plug took a beating there as well.

I just put the one in that came with my reese elite fifth wheel since I didn't get it factory installed unit. I put it in the second from the back rib close to the top, but those ones only call for 3 3/4 inches clearance and I had an 1/8 inch to spare. I'll get a pic tomorrow.

The factory one installed on my truck looks like it is mounted on a block that extends about 2 inches out from the truck.
