I have 20" rims and the Michelin all seasons (no season!) tires. Winter is coming and I'd like to get some plain black 18" steel rims, snow tires and TPMS sensors. The dealer wants $2400 all in. Ouch. Does anyone have the detailed rim specs for these trucks to help me with my shopping?
I understand the rims are the same for all SRW F-250 and F-350 trucks from 2005 to 2011.
Oh, and if anyone has some rims they've taken off that they'd be interested in selling, let me know. I'm in Ottawa, Ontario and shipping would be to Ogdensburg NY, for convenience.
I'm in the same boat. I have the 20" as well and want some winter tires for plowing. I'm hoping my old chevy rims will fit but I doubt it. Let me know if you find anything cheaper new as I'm interested as well
Here in Ottawa, I went to Costco tonight as well as Canadian Tire. Neither one carries rims for this truck. I did find one shop that can get me steelies for $106 ea., and emailed one other tonight, that is advertising on Kijiji.
Since the standard on the Lariat is an 18" but I have 20s, I think I'll drop back to 18" for winter, and go minus one on the tires, so from 275 65R20 to 265 75R18. Mind you in the 17" rim, a 255 85R17 would leave the speedo unchanged.
I see a lot of wheels on Ebay. I suspect you can find a used set.
I've bought Take Off tires from the Ford Dealer. He often offers the tires and wheels for a deal. They customize a lot of trucks for people who want fancier wheels or just don't want the OEM Conti's
No luck on eBay, but did find a local shop who can set me up with four 18" steel rims, TPMS sensors and four GT Radial snow tires for $1800 mounted, balanced and installed.
As it turns out I won't need them now until January since we're going to tow the trailer to Florida for Christmas, so I might see what kind of deal I can find in NY state and pick them up on the way home.
I found a set of winter rims here in Ottawa for $119 each so I don't think I can do any better than that.
It seems any similar rims and tires are selling for between $800 (Orlando, Florida), to $1800 (Toronto, Ontario), and then I'd still have to spend $800 or so on snow tires.
I can get the four rims, a set of Blizzaks (highly rated shoes), mounted and balanced for $1400 plus tax, so I think that's the way to go.
Thanks for putting the idea of your rims out there, much appreciated.
