I was driving home today, and not really paying attention to anything. Driving from Newport News VA to Williamsburg VA, lighting a cigarette and I look in front of me, and there is a truck with a nice big ole' blue oval in the middle of the tailgate. I thought to myself, that's not anything I've ever seen before. So I romp down and get alongside the truck. Nice shiney black 2004 F-150 with the 5.4L. I got a good gander at the interior. That bad boy looks nice!!! So I get an eyeful of that one, and zip up ahead and there are 2 more!! One was a single cab, and two were extended cabs. I gotta say, I love my Super Duty, but I might be addin one of these new 150's to the garage next year. VERY sharp lookin truck. They all had antennas on top and the drivers (3 older fellas) were wearing headsets. I guess they were testing the trucks out or something and talking to each other. I stayed with em for about 5 miles soaking in what the trucks looked like. The shock mounts on the rear are kinda odd. They look like they're mounted to the frame on the outside in the wheel well instead of inside the springs like the Super Duties and current 150's are. All in all, I think Ford did a superb job on the design of these trucks. Very sharp! Are they making these trucks at the Norfolk, VA truck plant?
These were definitely 04's. Completely different body style than the 03 trucks. I even went out to the Ford web site just now to confirm. I couldn't even tell they were 150's until I got right next to them and read the emblem on the side. (The new emblems are actually pretty cool...already looked like they were acetoned) I imagine they were from the Norfolk plant, but who knows.
In 1995, Ford had a troop of about 7? 1997 F-150s that were driving EVERYWHERE in my area. They all stopped at a gas station at the same time and I asked what the heck they were doing. They were all doing real-world testing for Ford.

Originally posted by mountainman when will the new 2004's be in the stores so we can check them in out person?
I know Mil1ion said September, but I think you'll see them a little sooner than that- probably July. We should be able to start ordering them late April- early May.
