Well the drivers side door has been hanging up when I try to open the door. Someone said Ford used small bushings(?) & they wear out. Now the handle has completely broken off (inside). I have to roll the window down & use the outside handle to open the drivers door- PITA!
The cable stretches and isn't able to pop the latch anymore. I had this problem on my 92 F250 but I can't remember how I fixed it for the life of me. That was back before the days of internet forums
When I bought my truck it had a broken handle...I replaced it, still a pain to open. Took off the door panel to find around the handle mount had cracked out of the door frame. I used large washers to reassemble it, It's been fine ever since. Lube it up good if you take the panel off.

That's what I gotta fix on mine. How do u remove the hand crank on these. My other truck had electric windows. Sorry to hi jack but I need to fix mine too.
Hand crank is held on with a clip between the crank and door panel- reach between there with a screwdriver and pop the clip off then the crank will slide off.
Mine tore the sheet metal where the door handle was bolted to the door frame. I bought a huge fender washer and re bolted through that, and that thing is as solid as any door handle I've felt!
On my window crank, you pull the plastic cover back and there's a torx screw holding it on.

You guys are correct, I was thinking of a different vehicle.

This exactly what happened to mine and I used the same fix. Still works after 2 years.
