Truck is back at a cost.....
Well I finally got my truck back from the shop. Customer service at the shop was kind of lacking but only from one individual, the others were great that worked there.
Had the oil pan removed as the leak was coming from the sealant. Also had the pan replaced with OEM pan since there was several rust spots on it. Will be taking some POR-15 to it in the next couple of weeks when I do the rear diff cover as well. Tech also said the rear main seal had some issues as well. Since I was not able to get there to look at it, I had them replace it as well. Would rather get everything done at once.
This is all work I could have done at the hobby shop on base, but would have required taking time off from work (no big deal) and spending less time with the family. Since I returned 8 weeks ago from being overseas (2 yrs), I opted to let someone else deal with this issue.
Total cost for labaor, parts (mark-upped of course), shop supplies, tax, HazWaste disposal, taxes, came out to $2600.
Yeah it was expensive, but before anyone goes bashing my decision on having everything replaced, I for much needed time with the family. During my two yrs overseas, I saw the wife and kids for around 60 days total, usually about every 5-6 months. Also have a baby that was born 36 hrs after arriving stateside. Its all good, money can be re-earned, family time was more important.
Truck runs fine, no leaks what so ever.
