I don't drive mine a lot. Now that I have a job it sits for a couple days sometimes. I don't drive it to work. I'm going to Sam's on my days off so I'll check them out.
Interstate Megatron plus...best bang for your buck and they are pricey but well worth it. Optima may run just the vehicle but if you want any life for anything else like if you have a system of any type or even want to listen to the radio when the truck isn't on then optima is NOT your battey. I run the megatrons and have had nothing but success. I have a 6.0 with over 3000 watts in stereo not to mention 5 dvd screens with subs and the interstates run it all day long. Best battery you can buy...my $.02
A couple years ago I spent a pleasant night in the woods with a dead ATV battery. So based on that experience I went looking a more robust replacement on the ATV forums and everyone seemed to recommend the Odyssey battery. I'd never heard of them, but according to their web site they supply the military and their batteries can maintain a charge even if not used for several months. Also, they claim a useful life of 6 to 12 years. Their claims have held up in my personal experience, as my ATV can sit for a couple months yet still start right up - even in the winter. So when I read that Odyssey was going to be the supplier of the Sears Platinum Battery, I bought 2 and put them in a year ago. I should note that these batteries are completely sealed. If you want to install them upside down - no problem. I like that they're completely sealed because there is no off-gassing to corrode battery terminals and trays. I also like the fact that if I should have a problem, a Sears store is usually nearby.
Do not buy yellow tops for vehicles. They are MARINE batteries. Red top only.
Just to clarify - the Blue tops are marine, Red are standard starting and Yellows are deep cycle/starting. I have a Yellow in mine and have had zero issues - including the kids watching an entire movie in the truck and then having the truck start right up. I just put a Red top in my Miata and the boat will be getting Blues next spring when the current Interstates finally go to their resting place. These are fantastic batteries - pricey - but a little shopping online can usually find you a deal with free shipping included.
