4WD Rattling When Cornering?

I have a 1999 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer. When I select either 4H or 4L and take a corner, I feel a rattling that seems to come from the center differential/viscous coupling. The resistance/rattling increases as the turn gets tighter, and it can actually stop the car sometimes. Anyone else have similar experiences? Is this normal?

4WD Rattling When Cornering?

Re you turning on a dry surface? It sounds like the axels are binding. This normally happens when driving on a dry surface. When turning, all of the wheels turn at different ratios and when this happens the rear axel fights against the front axel, etc. When on wet or frozen ground, the wheels give a little on the slippery surface. The truck should be in two wheel drive or auto four wheel drive when driving on a dry surface, depending on which your truck has. Good luck.
