RACED MY GIRLFRIENDS FORD 4X4 RANGER SHE HAS THE BIG V6 I HAD A NICE POSI BURN OUT SHE BLEW ME AWAY I TOOK HER OUTA THE HOLE FOR A TRUCK LENGTH THEN SHE FLEW BY ME I GOT A 2002 STOCK V-10 F350 SUPERDUTY
Don't feel too bad. Her power/weight ratio should be much better than yours. My old G*C Sonoma w/ the Vortec V6 would absolutely smoke my V10...until you made it earn its keep.
Next time ask her to haul home a ton of hay in the back, and then race 'em again...loaded.
Make sure you bet her something...ahem...worth betting for
Not to pull a topper on anyone, but i raced one of those gmc syclones or cyclone-s-10 varient,i think they are supercharged or turbocharged, and smoked him handily. Then when were on the interstate, at about 80 mph i let him get beside me and we nailed it , it wasnt even close! We repeated this about three times. I sure like having no top speed limiter.
Are you sure it was a real Cyclone (S10) or a Typhoon (Jimmy)?
Factory specs are a 126 mph top speed, 0-60 in 4.9 sec., and a 14.1 sec. qtr. mile, from a 283 hp turbo charged, intercooled 4.3 V6, in a vehicle weighing 3,599 lbs. I think they were also AWD.
(I used to want a Typhoon bad when they first came out)
Even with the mods on your V10 I doubt it could pull a 14.1 qtr. mile time, the truck is too heavy and wouldn't hook up near as well as the AWD. Odds are it was a POS S10 with stickers (Rice boy in disquise), or an extremely incompetent driver.
If it was a true Cyclone or Typhoon it would smoke any Super Duty factory. If it was chipped and had other mods done to it the thing it would be running 13's and you'd have trouble keeping up with it's tail lights with the most extremely modified Super Duty you could build.
V10's rule, but the Super Duty is not designed for speed or racing like the Cyclone or Typhoon.
Not a chance it was a Cyclone or a Typhoon. It may have been an S-10 Extreme. They have ground effects and pretty paint jobs, and Vortec 4.3 liter(I believe) V6. Those old AWD Cyclones have incredible potential with chips and aftermarket stuff. When they first came out they(auto people/mags) compared them to the Ferrari 355 in 0-60 times etc. But again, could have been incompetent driver.
Sorry it took so long to respond, just got in from offshore, I am pretty sure it said syclone with a S or a C not sure, but it looked factory. But it might have been just a clone. But i still smoked him.
I have driven a bunch of vehicles and i know my truck is not a race truck but it does haul butt this i do know.
The extreme trucks also come with the 2.2 four banger. The extreme truck is basically a slow *** Chevy with a ground effects kit that makes it even slower because of the extra weight.
My truck goes way past 100 mph mark, goes at least straight down on the speedo, havent held it till it wont pull no more.i keep running out of room. When it is straight down on speedo its still climbing, dont really know how fast as far as mph.i am trying to hide 75$ for 3 pulls on the dyno.{wife}The truck i raced was at least some kind of v6 with duals, if it was a CLONE i bet he at least took the fake stickers off by now, but it sure looked like the real deal to me, but what do i know about chevys.
What you should do V10KLZZ71S is take that beast down to your local ¼-mile track and see what it will run. This will give you a good indication of what kind of acceleration your truck has.
