dan, im in Valdosta Ga, and so far its looking like if i buy one from JBG i'll come out about the same as buying a used one from the JY

also.. theres something about haveing a straight axle thats juat cooler... i was looking at my buds '85 today and he has TTB, i was compareing it to the straight axle in a guy i knows chevy.. it just looks so much better to me, i don't know what to do.. im torn, the sas which has the custom cool factor or the TTB that has the ease of any idiot can do it...

check the link's kirby posted in this thread. he's from georgia too i believe. i find it hard to believe they are that expenssive and hard to find. and i'm not 100% sure but the link you posted looks like a small bronco d44, not a fullsize bronco 44.
EDIT: just looks small to me for some reason, dave's probably right.

try searching on this site. it is a statewide craigslist search engine. it's pretty sweet and saves you a lot of time when searching for parts:
StateWideList - Search Craigslist by state and also search craigslist by Canada province

this guy has a truck for sale, but he has a bunch of extra parts too. get a hold of him and ask for a price on the spare d44 he has if he is willing to seperate it from the package deal.

Idk Dan, that doesn't look like a 66-77 bronco axle, they have the track bar mount farther from the "C"s than that.

But it could be from a pre 78 pickup, as it didn't look like they where cast on "c"s.

But oi could very well be wrong due to lookin at the tinny pics on my phone.

ok well i'm going to go to the JY tomarrow and look at everything they have and get prices, anything specific i should look for, take mearsurements, or pictures of?
also, did the 80, and 81 trucks/broncos have TTB's too?
i'm wanting to say they do but in the back of my mind it seems like i saw something saying different..

i'm sure as soon as i find me another job this build will be started..
if i can find a decent job i will start buying up parts here and there, i got maybe 100 bucks extra to spend on this so far..

80-96 is TTB. Look for a late 70's (77.5-79 F150, 78-89 FSB), they're going to be your best bet as far as a solid axles goes for swapabliity.

I guess I got a pretty good deal on mine, I got all the parts to put a TTB under the front of my 96 basically for free. It's too bad you live in GA I have another mostly complete TTB assembly, and a set of D44 3.55s laying around, I would gladly donate it to your project. To ship it from MI would cost and arm and a leg though.

Yeah... I'd be willing to bet a complete TTB assembly weighs a good bit more than a saddle! LOL I know some of those saddles aren't light either!
