First of all, thanks for everyone's help in the past.
My truck had this happen but it was supposed to be fixed last year. I don't know what was done.
The Speedometer and Cruise Control quit working and the ABS light comes on. No effect to the operation of the vehicle. But everything sprung back to life again several miles down the road and it has worked ever since.
When my speedo quit working on my 99 awhile back, it turned out to be the sensor on top of the rearend ... called a VSS or Napa calls it a ABS sensor.. It was intermittent.. It would work, then it wouldn't.. Easy to replace and cheap... $10.50..(p/n 530780 at Napa)

THAT is good news! Thanks so much for letting me know. The "fix" the last time involved pulling out the dash and replacing ???? with a used one.
You'll save yourself a ton of money by hanging around here.
Wipe the dirt off the top of the rear diff. Unplug the sensor, use a 10mm socket to remove the bolt, pull it out and bolt the new one in. I bet the dealer would do it for only a few hundred bucks, plus whatever else they could convince you is wrong with your truck.
