Heres a question...DEF DELETE.

If someone comes out with a DEF delete tuner, exhaust pipe,,,etc. AND your out of warranty from Ford, would you delete your DEF?

If so Why?

If not, then Why?

Too early to speculate about that decision. I have 13500 miles on mine so far with no DEF concerns. The performance and fuel economy is so good I feel no need for a tuner like I had for my 6.0. I see what the DPF deletes for the 6.4 cost. When applied to the 6.7, the resulting reduction in fuel costs and DEF usage would have to be dramatic to ever recover the cost. I do see the aftermarket coming with a DEF solution sooner than later. That might be interesting.

Regards

You might also consider that no matter where you live, the newer the truck the better the odds that you will get smog inspections. A lot of states are already doing it on the 6.0's. The newer the truck the more expensive to delete and then replace.

Like Ricatic, I see no need to chip or tune this truck. Plenty of HP for the work I need it to do.
Utah smoged even my 6.0L, So I know they would fail me if the DEF and SCR were missing.

So as long as they don't become a problem, I'll leave them in place.

My attitude will likely be the same on this 6.7 as it was on the 6.4 I had. If/when I need to pay out of pocket to replace the DPF I will decide if I will get a tuner.

Reasoning there is that the cost of a new DPF is nearly the same cost of a good tuner/delete system. So, it's not really a question of wanting to tune the motor, it's just the issue of where my money goes. I'd rather buy a tuner than a DPF.
