I posted an album of my project. It's a 51 F2 flathead 6. I bought the truck from the dry part of our state and it is surprisingly solid. the photos show that the bed is not of Ford's making, it's a Dodge Power Wagon from the same era. My project came with the correct bed which I am cleaning up to install. Meantime I advertised the Dodge bed and sold it in one day. (Made enough to buy more parts.) The brakes are shot and I'm in the process of fixing them now. The miraculous thing about this truck is that it started right up and purrs (after a good soaking with Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders and a tune up). I'll be posting more pictures as the project moves ahead. Here is the link to the album (I hope this isn't against board rules.) Thanks for looking, this board is a wealth of information and great people.
Welcome to the site. Looks like you have a nice project ahead. Looks like a pretty solid body to start with. For some reason when I opened your post I was expecting to see a 48.
Welcome to the site! Nice project truck ya got there. Hearing that it turned over after a little MMO in the cylinders gives me hope that mine will to. Just gotta get done with the 53 first!
Thanks for posting up the picture...the torch on the ground belonged to the last owner and was not available when I picked up the truck.
I do have a paint question....this truck was originally gray then it was painted red perhaps by a fire department (this would explain the missing bed and the generally good condition of the body). What is the best way to remove the paint without blasting? I've had good results with paint remover and a scrub brush....I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks,
Hi there and welcome to the site. Someone on here not long ago suggested that one of those rotary disks that look like hardedned plastic mesh work very good for removing paint and rust. Good luck with the build.

Welcome to the forum! I remember seeing that truck listed for sale on craigslist. I'm glad it found a good home. Just don't let it catch a cold living over there in the Seattle rain.

I've told you guys this before. I live on the dry side. It's just good to have someone here to corroborate my story.
