Thats a very good idea, to contour the state you are from, Id good like one with the contour of the Mexican Republic, and with plastic red strip in the bottom.

Bryce,
You're very good, wish I could do that and not have to try to explain what's in my head.

I would leave more flap at the top in case it had to get cut down for custom fit.
I'd have the "Diesel" the same height at the "Power Stroke", and have "Diesel" all the way to the bottom of the flap.
Otherwise I like!

Thanks Jim!

I just did that on paint. Imagine what I could do with photoshop or something. I want that program. Although I feel like if I got it, I would be trying to run a design business on the side. That could work.

International Harvestor and Interntional Truck Corp were one in the same untill the mid 1980s when IH went bankrupt. The truck division was the one part that was making money, so that division was kept and the rest was sold to Tenneco Corp. The truck Division was then changed to Navistar Interntional.

OK, heres the final product of what Jim was looking for. I really like what we have come up with between our ideas and designs.

Now that I think of it, maybe this could be the right mud flap, then on the left one the "diesel" part could be left aligned.

Has it been considered to include 7.3L on the flap somewhere? These are nice but just some thoughts here. Could put big numbers 7.3L in place of the ford oval...or add it somewhere else on the flap. The ford oval and/or ford is already written on the front and back of the truck...maybe could try something other than that just to keep the repetition down? Just a thought.

That would be a negative on the left and right Diesel orientation. The tooling cost for 2 patterns wouldn't make sense. I understand why you said that, and it looks good, but for the cost of the extra tooling it'd take a long time to make these profitable.

That's a very good point.
Reason there is no 7.3L (beleive me, I'm a 7.3L guy through and through) is a marketing thing. The more trucks these apply to, the more they will sell, including 6.0, 6.4, and 6.7 guys. Not just todays trucks but hopefully in a few years, too, as the 6.7 get's established and whatever else Ford comes up with. Ford's Diesel, it would seem, will always be called the Power Stroke, regardless of who built it, size, etc. If it changes, then oh well, there will have been over 17 model years that would be covered.
Again, tooling costs come into play to have a variation of 7.3L, 6.0, 6.4, 6.7 etc printed on them. Just not worth it, IMO.

Intersting on the Ford oval, and I agree with what you said. But if it was just the Power Stroke across the bottom they would look kind of plain.
The ford logo just seems to make sense.
There's no point mixing the orange International truck logo with Power Stroke.

Any other thoughts are always welcome!
Thanks for all the great input!

I like that last design, just with Diesel centered instead of off to one side.

Well DUH!
That's too simple to make any sense whatsoever....
I never thought of that. I wanted it off ot the right because that's the way the logo was that I saw, but center would be the way to go.

Bryce, how's about a revision? That would take care of the left/right issue.

Thanks Evan!

Thank you. And good call on centering that part. I didn't think about how it would cost more due to the two different molds they would have to do just for the alignment of one word. I am all about having things symmetrical, thats why I did the right and left align. But this is much better and less expensive.
