Remote Start Question

First: Has anyone added remote start to their truck that didnt' come with it, either factory or after market?
Second: Does it require another key fob or can i get a combo one, either from the dealer or aftermarket?

My truck did not come with one from the factory. I had the dealer install one. They had a Ford rep. or another dealer come and pick my truck up and take it for a day to install it. I have a seperate fob for it. I would like to get one fob that would do everything, instead of having 2 on my key chain. Works great. Charged the same price as if it were installed from the factory.

Same for me - 1 FOB - works great.

as far as the Ford systems, if you get the 1-button fob rmst system, you are stuck with carrying 2 fobs around. The only option I read about is that guys have used the Ford Fusion key that has the keyless entry buttons built into the key and had it cut and programmed to work with their truck and then they just attached the rmst fob to it.

for the Ford system that is all in one fob, you would have to get the 6-button alarm, keyless entry, and rmst start system (called Series 200 or Gold system). If you don't like alarms, you can turn off that feature in the programming settings. It's installed by the dealer (or usually some stereo/alarm guy they sub-out the job to).

But with mine I had 1 fob did everything I left the factory one at home as it did locks only and got 2 new fobs with the system that started the truck, unlocked all the doors and activated heated seats all in 1 fob, you just have to buy extra relays with it and pay a little extra for the install.
