That's cool that you got your new truck. I just picked up an XLT 350 myself. 2011, crew cab, oxford white dually. Unbelievably nice ride yet still feels like a truck. Can't wait to go towing the trailer now!
It's hard to describe how nice the new truck is. My wife drove it to work today and reported on the drive. Unlike our previous 2008 F250 diesel SD, there is no turbo lag. Or none that I can detect. She loves to punch it off the line and that old lag was a bother. I had Banks on the other truck and it reduced the lag some. But this new truck is totally different.
I know there will be additional maintenance expense with this truck, but I'm not bothered. I expect the towing and stability aspects to more than offset costs. It's such a pleasure to drive, too. If it will ever stop raining here in SoCal, I'll be able to better test. I need to learn how to post pics. When I do, and when I've taken some, I'll post somewhere.
Be careful with letting your lady drive these trucks...one guy could not get his back...
No doubt about that! I actually had to insist that my wife drive mine this past weekend. She never liked driving the 06, now she's hooked on the 11. She says it doesn't feel as big and drives much more friendly.
Its scary. I had my wife drive mine on the weekend and its possible I could loose it if I am not careful. Looking forward to hooking up the rig and going south for the winter. I got the 5th wheel hitch set up in the box from Ford. No hitch rails to get in the way anymore. Going to town tomorrow to get a hitch. Have any of you guys tried this setup yet
Was just looking at some pics of the F350 dually and remembered there's one sitting in my driveway. Hmm. And yes, the wife decided it's hers and she'll share it with me. She's actually "allowing" me to drive it to work in the morning. Very kind of her. Really, though, what a superb machine. We're both totally hooked.
Hi, This is Al in Portland, Oregon. Is the 6.7 that much better than the 6.4 in the 2009 and 2008? I am looking to get a newer truck and was wondering if the newer engine is worth the new truck price or if I'd be just as well off getting a 08 or 09.???

Now you've opened a can of worms....and for my answer...YES it is worth it!
Only one guy has complained about the new 6.7 in regards to their traded off 6.4. He was hoping for even better fuel mileage than he was getting. I have not heard any others with that complaint
