Winter Weight Oil

2011 F250 6.7L has 1800 miles on it. Won't reach enough miles to prompt for oil change before winter sets in. In Ontario CDA .... Already been below 32 and expect down to 20's soon enough. Should I go for the lighter weight oil before the first change is prompted?

if you want to be on the safe side then it's a yes. you most likely won't have any issues, but it would really suck if you can't start the truck in freezing weather because the oil is too heavy

Proper viscosity trumps oil change interval.
