Temp is getting up about to the orange but not into the red . Might keep going up but don't know got home and didnt want to drive it any more and get it hotter and mess something else up. But it is not drinking coolant.

It has had this particular issue since I got it back from the diesel performance shop that supposedly fixed my overheating with new oil cooler new head gasket and egr delete kit. Just got off the phone with the owner says might be fan clutch not engaging or sensor going bad from previous overheat.
He also says there's no way my motor's getting hot told me to go drive it and call him back because it the temp never rose on him or his tech when they both drove it??
Keep the truck away from them IMHO.Check the fan shroud drivers side for a connector and make sure it is plugged in or that the wires aren't cut.And as was posted a couple posts above,no EGR on the newer trucks needs a tune as ford did some programing to complicate EGR removal.
Ive had a couple other guys tell me that too already dropped 5000 . What does IMHO mean. I'll go check it right now but not sure exactly what I'm looking for this truck is way more involved than i had known but am exited to learn!

Hang on two minutes and I will get a pic.I will shrink it in a couple minutes but it is what I'm pointing at.
Thanks for the pic I found it and is plugged in. Should I go drive it and see if my fan kicks on/
You need to be careful here bud!! Slow down, think clear,& back up & punt.First we need to verify what the problem is. As was said before, you NEED gauges. You need to find a way to read your temps. so you can tell if you are infact running hot. The factory gauge in the dash may not be working properly so we need to find out for sure.If you are running hot you need to verify that your cooling fan is working. If the fan is working properly and you are in fact getting hot you WILL KNOW IT. The fan on these trucks sounds like a jet taking off so if the fan kicks on you'll know. The fan SHOULD come on somewhere around 215 deg. (oil or coolant temps. among other things as well) but if you are getting either oil or water temps. to 215 and the fan is not coming on you have a fan prob.Once you can verify your temps. let us know and we will walk you through the next steps to take but without temp. readings it's all just guesswork. You can get a Scangauge II OBDII electronic gauge at Auto Zone for approx. $160.00 that will tell you everything you need to know(best deal going right now that I know of) and it will pay for itself immediately by getting you away from that "parts replacer" that's working on your truck. Let us know what you find out a we will help!!

The main problem here is the factory gauge is more of a glorified idiot light. If it moves at all (unless the sender is bad) off of normal than by that time you are already too hot. By the time that neddle moves off of normal you are probably already at 220+ deg . When I had puking issues my analog gauge went to 240 deg real quick, and my stock one was just starting to move. Granted once it did start to move it didn't really stop till it hit the red. That was pulling my 18k+ TT. Point is you need some gauges to verify if you are getting hot, and how hot is it getting.
