My name is Sascha,

I've bought a F-250

F25YR889036

I'm excited about this car, but I must nochein do some other things.

So 390iger engine is a built in, how much oil I have to fill? Thanks

Damn, a F-250 in Germany!!! Well welcome to this little truck web site as you have come to the right place. As to your question regarding oil changes. If you have a truck V8 in there, you say 390 but who knows, the engine would take a total of 6 quarts (5.678 liters) when the filter is also changed out. Also your VIN listed shows your truck to be a 1968.

Thanks,

I bought a 1966iger, but I've read that you can see the production date on the chassis number. Can someone please tell me the exact date? He has the emblems on the side of "Twin I Beam".

Y = 352 2V

R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant.

889036 = 1966 / Assembled July 1966 / 1966 serial number range: 732,001 thru 914,000.

If this was a 1968, it would not have Twin-I-Beam emblems, the serial number range would be: C00,001 thru D82,000.

Sellers are clueless, so...on sale day, 352 engines magically become 390's...which were first offered in F100/350's in 1968 (along with the 360).

If the engine has been swapped, measure the stroke to determine its size: 352 = 3.50" / 390 = 3.78"

Yes the engine has been replaced, unfortunately I do not know when ...
I changed the oil pan gasket and therefore equal to the oil with oil filter ...
Now I must set the parking brake, because the power is not sufficient.

I'm going to try to upload a picture.

Welcome to FTE, looking forward to your input and post pic's of your classic treasure if and when you can. According to the 65 shop manual the torque value is 10-12 ft. lbs, or roughly 13.5 to 16 newton meters but make sure to check these fiqures. Here's a pic' of the spec sheet. As for the drain plug, I tend to go for the lower value, stripping the drain pan threads can become problematic.

Thanks for the info, I have to tighten again tomorrow, for I have put only 10 Newton ... I have the problem is always the oil under the car, and even if I had been just 1 hour ... always 3-4 drops

I still have some residual zutmachen work because the parking brake pulls unfortunately not ...

Check the back of the intake manifold. This engine is prone to leaking there and running down and dripping underneath and looks like a rear seal or front of oil pan leaking.

Raven Black und Wimbledon White. Der hubcaps are from a 1977/86 F250/350 w/a Dana 60/70 rear axle.

The mirrors are from a 1973/79 F100/350. The original radio antenna(C3AZ18813C) has been reproduced.
