rear leaf springs
Looking in the junkyard for a replacement for my 79' F250 rear leaf spring. The back right side has the inner two leafs cracked and needs replacement. What years would be compatible with my truck? thanks

If you want to stay with the 3/4 ton spring rates, I would suggest a 78 or 79 f-250. Is it 2wd or 4wd? the older 4x4s used a narrower spring than yours. 2wd you may be able to go older, back to 73 i believe.

just measure your spring width,over all length and lenght from front bolt to center bolt.Then when you go to the junk yard just measure any 3/4 ton ford untill u find the corect measurements.I know on a 1/2 ton 4x4 up to 96 is a direct swap so maybe 3/4 is the same?

Thanks for the help. The previous owner welded the airbags to the springs, so I ended up taking it to a spring shop and having it replaced with a new one. Paid $300. I thought it was a fair price compared to most places I found.
