need a lift comparison
Here's my thoughts...
Since there can't be a TRUE comparison without a non bias group performing the "tests" most everything else is said in opinion.
Everybody's opinion differs and this is no place for advertisements of peoples products.
So with that said, your opinions are welcome but lets not push to hard on one manufacturer over another based on anything else but your real life experiences , likes and dislikes, and why.
I and some others like to hear or see proof, lets try to include that in our posts when replying with opinions on lift kits.
"they look cool" or "the guy says his are the best" in my world that doesn't cut it.
Do I know everything? almost
With that said, Please still include the humor

If you have The Edge lift kit on your truck and you have also used another lift company, I want to hear what you think of both systems.
I just want opinions of people who have had a name brand lift kit and then went to the Edge.
You don't have to even name the previous lift company... just what you think of your Edge system compared to what you had previously.
I am going to go with either a 3" kit or a 4.5" kit. For various reasons, I keep researching this topic and am still not confident enough to make a decision on a kit.
$ is of no concern.
Thanks,
Scott
Scott ,Its probably going to be a while before you get that answer... The Edge is a young company when it comes to lift kits. And the market share for the EDGE is Nothing Like the big boys (i.e. Fabtech, skyjacker, ect) I would keep doing what you are doing though... So many guys make a quick choice based on hearsay and are not happy with it. Suspension is really tuff to compare unless you have two identical truck with different kits on them side by side to compare. Plus Most people are totally happy with the systems they bought becuse they have nothing better to compare with. Apendx makes a good point about the Bilstiens in the EDGE kits as well. You can buy Bilstiens Cheep online and adding them to any kit with help the ride (imo). Keep up the reaserch. One good way to really reaserch suspension is go to your local book store and look under Performance suspension or racing suspension... Some writters Like Carol Smith wrote Great Books on suspension engineering that will give you better insight to what is ok and what is better. Spring Rates, And shock Valving are all covered in those books... I think once you understand what is really happing when your supension moves it will help you to make your choice. A person who knows Suspension can look at a leaf spring and know how it will ride. As well as how a shock is put together. The books will cover lots of fun stuff like Roll Centers and anti-dive, anti squat. All thing that realate to a superduty.... Good luck...
: i have never run the EDGE but i am all knowing so heres a quick analogy:
the EDGE will only sell there kits with Bilstiens and they really push the 7100's at a minimum, and with their big kits you must go with Xover steering..
This shows two things about the company
1. Xover steering... any truck running their kit will be done RIGHT, thats comendable, especaily when they could make more profit by selling more kits without that setup, but they want it done right.
2. the mandatory bilstiens.... heres the heart of my topic, (boy some people are not going to like this) on a superduty with Leaf springs, there is not enough flex and/or dynamics of the way the stiff suspension works to EVER pump a shock hard enough to need race valved shocks with rezzies, im sorry i race quads and spend 1000's on tricked out shocks witch get the hell beat out of them, BUT i surely did not spend 1000s on the shocks on my truck, nothing in the RACE industry uses leaf spring suspension, that is used in the Work industry, the solid axel, leaf spring setup cant move fast enough to ever heat the shock to the point of fading, and if you hit the whoops hard and fast enough to do this something else on your truck will give(just a mass and energy equation) Sooo my point is they have you run massive expensive shocks, which valved right may give a bit smoother ride than some generic vavlved, doubled up oil shock setup, but they demand you use these shocks cause they run with there kit just because the kits are way overbuilt and supposedly setup for hardcore application, but belive me your truck could not handle what those bilstien 7100/9100's were setup to take, SO ITS OVERKILL, ALOT OF WHAT YOU PAY FOR IS OVERKILL! thats the bottom line
HOWEVER, IT LOOKS AWSOME AND IF I COULD HAVE AFFORDED IT, I WOULD DEFINATLY BE RUNNING IT!!
if money is no object than go for it! but your truck will never be a desert Racer because you went with an EDGE system a Skyjacker equipped truck will take just as much abuse before something breaks!
