2001 Excursion. Only perf mods are a used SuperChips 1705 and 6637. I am the second owner and bought it with 142,000 well documented miles and now have 152,000. When I bought it, I changed the water pump, fluids, filters etc. I added the tuner about 1,000 miles after buying it and run the perf tow tune. No gauges yet and I havent towed with it. It runs good with a small haze of black smoke and some turbo lag from a stop. No up pipe leaks and seems to have no boost leaks. Anyway, I just returned from a trip to Gatlinburg and one of the hills on the interstate (Ghent on I77) is a fairly long and steep pull. We had just left a road construction at the base of the hill and I was pushing it hard to get around the slow pokes and was pulling the hill at about 77 mph. Thats when the service engine soon light came on. Truck ran the same. I drove home about 80 miles and pulled the codes. The only one was p1211 ICP sensor uncontrollable (something to that effect). I had this code when I first put the tuner on it and I checked the sensor and sure enough there was some oil in the connector so I replaced it with a new Ford one. I checked it yesterday and there was no oil in the plug and I reset the code. It did not come back on today. As I said, it runs good and returned 18 mpg for the trip. Should I be concerned or is there anything I should look for?

 

I wouldn't worry about the code. You might have been low on the ICP while putting a load on the HPOP.

 

Thanks. Like i said, it drives normally, but I had a 2003 7.3 F250 before with the same mods and it never threw the code. I did get an overboost code once, but never an ICP code. It also had half of the miles of the X. I plan on adding gauges, a 4" exhaust and a DP tuner in the future.
