Yup, we are not very fast. I don't know if I do a very good job of conveying our work situation. We are a small machine shop, myself, a full time machinist, 1 or 2 part time guys depending on the seasons.
I do pride ourselves on the quality of the machine work we do, the attention to detail and the "personal touch"
Since we live in a farming community, we do give priority to our local business and farmers. Then when we are caught up there, we can go back to the assembled engines. Currently we have this 400, a 351C stroker, and a 400 long block.
I usually try to let a customer know that it may take 2-3 months for an engine, or at least I try to. I am close to hiring another full time machinist. Hopefully this will allow us to shorten our time frame.
This may not be the best answer, but it is the best I can do.

you stick at it Tim. You do a great job and I would have been lost without you on my rebuild. Being busy usually means you are good.

Drive on, Tim. Again, no worries from this customer! Pics are looking great!

If time was a priority, I'd have gone another route. Instead I wanted the TMI stamp of quality all over this build, and am therefore more than willing to wait for it.

Very nice looking motor. I'm just curious, why OEM springs? I was under the impression that pretty much every aftermarked M block cam makes enough lift to bind OEM springs. Am I wrong on this?

The springs are not OE. The valves are new OE. IIRC, the springs are Comp Cams #924, matched to the cam.

Just realized the confusion! This post was meant to say that the valves were OE, but not the springs.

Hey, no worries. Just didn't seem to make sense with the rest of the motor upgrades you've had done. That motor is going to make some serious torque. I hope the shipping to alabama doesn't kill ya.

This video just shows the break-in process we do.
We will let the engine run for about 10-20 Minutes.
This will depend on if it is a roller cam or a flat tappet cam.
During this time we are able to adjust the amount of load on the engines while it is running. So what you saw on the gauges, was the engine had a healthy 100 lbs of torque on it.

I know the parts that go in an engine, but basically nothing about the process. Very informative.

What do you anticipate the engine to end up at hp/tq wise?

Per Tim (yesterday evening):

"We are at 30 full ignition advance. There may be some more in there.

This is a torque monster,

It made 472 TQ and 352 HP so far."

Very excited!
