9" rear diff

I would like to know if a 1982 f-150 with a 9" rear diff used a 31 spline axle. I am not sure if they had 28 and 31 spline or just 31. If anyone knows please let me know. I don't have the diff to pull axle and check. Thanks

all the 80's trucks w/ 9" used 31 spline, 2 or 4wd.

Yep, as little husky said, all 1980's Ford trucks with the 9 inch had 31 spline axles.
