What does recalibrating even mean? How do you know when it's happened, or not happened?
My rt frt has always sagged slightly, maybe and inch or so. I thought for $540 it might al least get level.
I saved the old height adjuster just in case I need it for future use.
My current compressor is aftermarket, I think from "Arnott Industries" and is still working but I ordered a replacement from "American Air Suspension" just to have. Price was good but I was not to excited about having to return my used compressor within 30 days to receive their 2 yr. warrantee. I would much rather keep it in stock until the one I have gives up the ghost. They didn't specify that the return need be original equipment so I hope there is no problem.
You could check with the dealer and see if the tech has a junk one laying around or you could go to the local Pick N Pull and get a used compressor to send in. As they reman compressors for all brands I don't think it would have to be the original or even the original type. You could also call Eddie Spinks, the owner and see what he would charge for the warrantee with out the core. He will probably see this post anyway as he does come here at times.
I think your truck will get level in a day or so without more shop visits.
I think American Air lists how to check the height adjuster with a multi-meter, if not I'll see if I can get it for you from my manual.
Recalibration is usually a matter of getting the truck level immediately, I think it will do the same with a little time, mine did.
I also replaced my compressor last fall. I never had it calibrated at all and it is fine ride is good and the heigth is fine too. When I replaced the cpressor it had failed completely. The truck was down on all 4 corners.
So if I was you I wouldnt worry about the recalibration.

I don't see a need to take it back to the dealer either.
I searched Am. Air for info on testing the height adjuster and couldn't find anything.
I've been searching through my service manual and can't find it today. I have seen the info sometime in the past. What it is, is just checking the resistance in the sensor with a multi-meter and it works on a sliding scale like a fuel level sensor in the fuel tank. I'll check for the info in a different manual and post it here.
