i have a 98' expedition EB with the mach audio system, my sub has been buzzing so i need to access the speaker and amp located in the interior panel near the rear passenger wheel to find the problem. does anyone know how to get the cover off the interior panel to access the speaker. i can pull it out just enough to see some kind of clips, and ive tried everything, pushing, pulling the clips to no avail. can it be taken off or do i have to remove thet entire interior panel. thanks for any help you can offer
On the '03s you have to pull the cargo area carpeting and scuff pads to get to the trim screws that secure the quarter trim to the rear floor. Looks like a major hassle. If thats what yours looks like too. Otherwise you're likely to tear it up trying to get it out. You can buy a complete shop manual on CD for your '98 over at Ebay for about $11, they normally sell thru Helms for about $1200, sounds like a good deal to me. The factory shop manual is a lifesaver when it comes to repairing your own truck. Mike
I have a 2000 exp. eb. I installed new speakers
that I received from Crutchfield Audio.
Anyway, the installation guide included instructions on how gain access the rear
sub woofer. It has diagrams on what to remove.
If you want, I can fax or scan them in and e-mail
them to you if you want. Let me know.
It's not that bad, just takes a little time to do.
