by factory amp.. do you mean the actual stereo or head-unit itself? or do you have a seperate amplifier say for a subwoofer?
I wanted to put some 6x8's in my 00 X.. i plugged them in and my factory stereo made music.. but only if u put your ear almost directly against it(not exaggerating) .. If your going to do it right you may have to buy an amp and wire into the stereo to supply enough power to the new speakers.. i just wanted some better sound and a bit more quality but.. unfortunately, without me butchering the factory wiring it won't happen..
Amplifiers/Sub-woofers are so cheap now.. No one uses big sub-woofers like they used to. I looked at a few online stores and on e-bay and they're practically giving the away.
