In anticipation of putting my lift on this spring, I want to get one of those urethane bushing kits to replace all my bushings (cab mounts, suspension, steering, etc) that could be worn. I know this has never been done on my 77 F150 4x4.
I don't want to end up with a bunch of duplicate parts, so what bushings are usually included with a suspension lift. I'd hate to buy the bushings by themselves and find they come with or need to be replaced by the lift kit.
Also, is there a particular brand that you guys recommend?
I helped a buddy install urethane body mounts on his truck.
The ride was almost unbearable. Felt everything, and I do mean
everything. It was so bad that the very next weekend we
switched back to OEM rubber.
Can't help you on the your question of what comes with the kit,
but I would guess it does not include body mounts. It's been a
long time since I looked at them, but when I was interested in a
body lift the kit only appeared to have the blocks, not the mounts.
lift kits usually come with c-bushings and radius arm bushings. if you get a kit with the drop brackets the offset in the c-bushings will be stock. you also probably get trac bar bushings. other than maybe bushings for the rear leaf spring shackles thats it. that is for a suspension lift. i dont think body lifts come with bushings.
Thanks guys. A suspension lift is what I'm going for. Perhaps to be sure I'll just have to figure out what brand of lift I'm getting before I order my bushings and go from there.
Thanks a TON for the tip on the cab mounts. I'd hate to put the urethane ones on and then have to take them back off like was mentioned.
