Buffing...??
Okay.. searched the forum and couldn't find what I'm looking for.. I have an '01 250 Crew long bed that I got back in the spring, it has the common 9 yr old black paint "fade" going on... There is no real shine to it, just a little when looking back down the bed from the mirror but as far as standing 30 ft away from it, hardly any. There are light surface scratches, especially on the hood. I have a buffer, used it to buff a boat I had and I did pretty good with it, didn't burn the gelcoat and got the shine back in it, but much harder to see poor results on a boat. Can I buff this truck into a little shine myself or had I better not try this? What compound do you recommend for buffing and any tips or tricks? If not recommended, anyone had a vehicle of this size buffed by a shop and idea of what they might charge?
