fuel rail problems...

So... I bought a fuel pressure regulator from Jegs for my fuel rail. Started screwing on the gauge to the adapter and the gauge snapped off. Great... so i went to put the schrader valve back on the fuel rail and that snapped off to. So... I took a tap and ran the tap through to get the snapped off valve removed, which widened the hole slightly, to 5/8-20 I think. So now I need a good way to plug the hole. The bung for the schrader valve is welded onto the ruel rail and there's a bit of a shelf there. Are there going to be any problems if I put an o-ring in there and then put a bolt in? Any chance of the o-ring breaking down and clogging a fuel injector?

I think that would work well, as long as you're sure there isn't any part of what broke off still inside the hole, and you make sure the O-ring isn't cut or chafed by the thread of the bolt when you install it. I find that in these situations, a blow gun is a good friend to keep at your side as you do your thing in the engine bay.
