Just wondering your thoughts and who's going to win the main event Heavyweight Championship bout: Brock Lesnar (c) vs Cain Velasquez. I'm going for Lesnar and hope he pounds Velasquez out by the 3rd round. Brock's an animal and I think Velasquez is in for a tough night.
I'm not a big fan either, but seeing Lesnar fall would be a big event.
After watching Lesnar come back like he did in that Carwin fight, Lesnar seems too hard to beat. Has anyone ever come back from an early beating like that and win?
If anything is going to happen, Velasquez is going to have to wear Lesnar down (some how) and manage to do some major damage.
For me going for Brock is not an easy bet. I can go for an underdog and have before, but in this case Brock is my boy and have wanted to see him dominate and win every fight. He was also one pro wrestler I had my eye on...I knew he could do more than just fake wrestling, kinda a waste of talent. The other thing to is that a lot of my co-workers would love to see him lose, so it's my way to even-out the trash talk with them and remind them I'm Team Brock all the way...lol.
No fighter has ever come back like he did and survived some heavy hits from Carwin. Heck, no other fighter has even survived the 1st round with Carwin like Lesnar did. He's one tough SOB.
Brock was on Spike TV commenting about his up coming fight on Saturday and when asked about what Cain brings to the octagon with the size difference Brock said small guys have never really presented much of a problem for him. They showed Brock working out and man, he looks like he's about 300 pounds of solid beef...of course he'll have to cut down to 265 pounds on weigh-in the night before. I still think when Brock the tank parks on Cain with all that weight, size and strength, that's when he'll do a ton of damage to him. I can't wait for this one.
I remember reading somewhere that Brock walks around at about 290, cuts to 265 for weigh-ins and fights at about 280. Not sure about Cain but it's nowhere near that. Look for Lesnar to take it to the ground and use his weight to keep Cain in the ground and pound as per usual.
good thing Lesnar had that lumber jack beard going on,it was pretty fitting when he got chopped down like a big oak tree!! Totally outclassed!! loved every second of it!!
Loved that Lesnar fight last night, he definitely got out classed and beat down. The Sanchez fight was amazing as well, I'd like to see him get a title shot soon. Looks like it might be time for Tito to hang it up as well, he couldn't keep up last night and was mostly along for the ride.
Yeah, I watched the fight last night and must say, that was Brock's worst UFC fight. Brock did exactly as he planned to do...take it to Cain fast and hard, take him off his feet for some ground and pound. When Brock took Cain down, he could only hold him down for a few seconds then Cain popped back up to his feet. Cain landed a flurry of punches that put Brock up against the cage where he then took cover on the mat. He was able to get up and went for a leg take-down, but missed as Cain side stepped the big man and that sent Brock stumbling across the octagon where he fell, rolled up to his feet as was met with more punches against the cage. Brock fell and rolled around a little until the ref Herb Dean was forced to step in and stop the fight a little past 4 minutes in the 1st round. Brock had a huge cut under his left eye and was bleeding badly...something I thought I'd never see. I did some reading today around on the internet on the fight and the thought was that Brock should have slowed the tempo of the fight down, that he rushed in too fast and emptied his gas tank too fast and that left him to be another victim for Cain. Another report stated that some officals at ring-side said they heard Brock verbally call a stop to the fight, but I didn't hear that from watching it. Others say that Brock needs a better training camp...bring in some real MMA instructors to teach him more of the MMA aspects, not just the wrestling side. Another report on the internet stated that some people who have trained with Brock in MMA claims Brock doesn't like to get hit in the face during training and his camp tries to not hit him in his face, that they should wack him in the face with a 2X4 until he likes it. They believe that is part of what happened last night as he gets hit with punches and isn't used to it, he panics and makes bad mistakes. Not sure if any of this is true, but if I were Brock I'd be looking at my camp very closly wondering what changes in training will make me a better MMA fighter. We haven't seen the last of Brock...he'll be back looking for a title shot. This loss can only make him better.
