May I ask why after working for 44 years with a single bowl you think it now needs 2?
If you want to upgrade your brakes, swap in power disc from a 73-79, grab the power steering at the same time. Do it right and you might get away with a $100.00 or less.
I used a drum/drum M/C from a 69 F100 and cut about 1" off the actuator rod, plugged a line on the distribution block and added a connector to the new second line. Installed an electric brake light switch on the brake pedal arm to work the lights. There have been various write-ups on here about doing this, some searching will produce plenty of info.

If you'd ever had your brakes go out driving down a mountain pass hauling a heavy load, you wouldn't ask that question!
Yep it happened to me!
After that I got a master cyl/booster off a 68/72 era F100 & put it on my 66. That was a long time ago, so I don't recall all the details, but IIRC it was a pretty straightforward swap.

Never been down a mountain pass in a truck not up for the job, but my truck was upgraded to power discs which would be a much better choice.

If your truck's got discs, I'm sure it's got a dual master cylinder, too. It's a good safety upgrade for any vintage vehicle to have redundant braking.
As for not being up for the job, I had 7,500 lbs of scrap metal in the bed of an F100, going down a 7% grade...ah, to be young & foolish again...

In my years of driving vehicles with two bowls, and after experiencing brake line failure in some of those vehicles, I honestly wondered what the big advantage was of two versus single. Yes, I know the theoretical advantages, but have yet to experience them in real life. I cannot think of a better way to say it than jowilder has. Gave me a chuckle, John...not at anyone's expense, tho...thanks.
