The tip is NOT just looks
I can tell you that first hand after switching from a 5 inch tip to 7 inch tip on my old tan 99. It drastically changed the TONE of the truck
after i took off my wide 37'' mud tires, it looked silly. But it was proportionate to the truck when i put it on. My new 03 dually looks nice with a 6" tip

That is good to hear. how long was the 7" tip. Im going to make sure to have mine welded so that the old pipe isn't sticking half way through the new tip.
I am going to be running 35" muds, so I'm sure that a 6" would be proportionate.
