I just bought my 56 f100 a few months ago and I am in the process of dumping some cash into it to make it road worthy. Someone changed the tail lights on it and filled in the original holes. I can't find the hole measurements anywhere in order to replace them with stock lights. Does anyone out there have the measurements or a spec sheet? Thanks in advance

How about a picture? I can't imagine what "holes" you are refering to that 56 tail lights go into? Do you mean tail light bracket holes perhaps?
My new bedside rails did not arrive pre-drilled..so after installing rear bumper, I vise-gripped the lite assy's until it looked ok..then marked them. You will probably not get the license plate bracket AND the lamp assy to fit in the same area..so make a choice which one you want to loose.

Okay, I'm with you now. I used a ProsPick bed and there's nothing pre-drilled on those either. Fortunately I had another truck to look at to get an idea of where to drill the holes for my taillight brackets...
Just put the brackets in place with the slant in the up position about 1/2" from the bottom of the stake runner. Some people have mounted them higher to get the plate a little higher. Good luck, Jag
The mounting brackets (slanting DOWN) bolt onto the back of the stake pocket using the tailgate hinge pin bolts.
On many of the trucks there is a third hole higher up that is the same distance up from the second hole as the second is from the first. Using the two higher holes makes the lights more visible. But if you mount your brackets slanting up or use the upper two holes instead of the lower two, you run the risk of having your license plate interfere with the bottom edge of the bed - if you hang it with an OEM style license plate bracket on the tail light bracket as well.
Up from the bottom edge of the stake pocket the three holes are (on center) 2 3/4;" 4 3/4;" and, 6 3/4."
