Fuel pump running----WHY?
Fuel pump running w/o key on.
1983 460 Econoline motor home. twin fuel tanks
Put rebuilt 460 engine back in and reconnected wiring. Hooked up battery and fuel pump began pumping. Key is not even in the switch.
I did not think there should be any current available to pump unless key in start position or oil pressure up with engine running.
Have I missed something.
Help appreciated. Ard

Problem fixed.
Vehicle had been sitting outside w/o hood. Fuel pump relays were hanging by wires behind battery out of sight. fuel pump shut off relay that follow inertia switch was full of water and grounded out.
